Ampy Electrical started as a one-man show and grew into one of Bendigo's most trusted local electrical teams, built on the simple idea that doing the job right and taking care of our customers speaks for itself.
With over 16 years of electrical experience behind us, we've worked in hundreds of Bendigo homes and businesses. Every job gets the same standard. We show up on time. We explain everything upfront. We do the work properly. We clean up thoroughly and never leave the customer with surprises.

Meet the Team
Mr Ampy
I run the joint. The truth? I do both.
My official title is Chief Morale Officer, but really, I’m the boss. I just let the humans think they’re in charge. I’m responsible for greeting visitors, supervising lunch breaks, and making sure every job starts with a tail wag and ends with a smile.
You’ll find me patrolling the office (for crumbs), providing emotional support (with belly rubs), or napping in strategic locations (usually doorways). I take my responsibilities seriously, unless there’s a squeaky toy involved.
But I don’t do it alone. Let me introduce the hardworking humans who keep Ampy running and my treat jar full.
Cody Nicholas
Managing Director
Cody is the spark behind Ampy Electrical.
He started out solo on the tools, building a reputation as the electrician who shows up on time, nails the details, and treats people with respect. Over time, that one-man show grew into the awesome team we’ve got today, and I’ve had front-row seats the whole way.
Sure, Cody’s a trade-qualified electrician, but his real superpower is how he makes people feel. Whether it’s a customer, an apprentice, or someone calling with a tricky question, Cody makes sure they’re looked after.
His “it’s not done until it’s perfect” attitude lifts the whole crew and defines our culture. He’s built Ampy to be more than just a job. Ampy is a place where people are encouraged to grow, take ownership, and still make it home for family dinner.
So that’s Cody. A leader, family man, and my full-time apprentice.
Cody built Ampy on the belief that great electrical work and genuine care for the customer aren't mutually exclusive. All this time, that hasn't changed.
Ella Mawson
Office Manager
Ella is Cody’s wife, my mum, and the glue that holds everything together.
She’s often the first human people chat with when they call Ampy. Ella is the warm voice on the phone, the fast fingers behind the bookings, and the one who somehow juggles a toddler, my pup-snack schedule, and a dozen calls without breaking a sweat.
Ella’s big on clear, kind communication and genuinely wants people to feel good. Whether she’s booking a job or chatting with a customer who just needs to talk, she always leads with empathy and a smile.
She says the best part of working at Ampy is the flexibility. It means she can balance work and family life, and I can fit in those extra w-a-l-k-i-e-s! Ella might not wear a toolbelt, but she keeps the team, our customers and family happy.
Ben
Lead Technician
Ben is our Lead Technician, Solar wiz, and the guy who keeps his van cleaner than my food bowl.
He turns up on time, fully prepared with a plan in mind. When he leaves, the site’s spotless and everything works perfectly. He’s trade-qualified with a Cert III in Electrotechnology and accredited in solar installs.
Ben has a quiet confidence. He’s not flashy, but when it comes to diagnostics, solar systems, or coordinating with other trades, he’s unmatched. He believes in doing it right the first time and takes pride in neat, professional work.
Outside of work, he’s into the gym, golf, and giving top-tier belly rubs (for me, of course).
Ryan
Apprentice Electrician
Ryan joined the Ampy crew in 2024 and has been powering along ever since.
He’s curious, focused and always ready to jump into the next learning opportunity. Ben’s working toward his Cert III in Electrotechnology and learning the ropes fast.
Ryan’s known for his safe work habits, positive attitude and willingness to speak up when unsure. With top mentors like Cody and Ben, he’s becoming an electrician who takes pride in his craft and values the people he works with.
He fits into the Ampy crew like he’s always been here. He gets the banter, respects the tools, and brings good energy to every job.
